Queensland Transport Contracted services
Southern Cross is CONTRACTED by QUEENSLAND TRANSPORT to supply limited public transport and school services in the suburbs of BORALLON, PINE MOUNTAIN, MUIRLEA, NORTH TIVOLI, CHUWAR, KARALEE, BARELLAN POINT, KARANA DOWNS, MT CROSBY, ANSTEAD, and school only services in the suburbs of BELLBOWRIE, MOGGILL, PINJARRA HILLS, JAMBOREE HEIGHTS, JINDALEE, MIDDLE PARK, MT OMMANEY, RIVERHILLS, SEVENTEEN MILES ROCKS, SUMMNER PARK, WESTLAKE.
TRANSLink Sub Contracted services
Southern Cross also operates a number of school service under agreement with TRANSLink, Westside Bus Co. and Brisbane Transport. These services operate in the North Ipswich Region and the Centenary Estates region.
Non Contracted Commercial Services
Southern Cross Transit also operate limited NON CONTRACTED COMMERCIAL RESTRICTED SCHOOL SERVICES to and from various private and state schools in Indooroopilly and Brisbane CBD.
Chartered School Services
A number of services are provided to private and public schools on a Charter Hire basis. These services are exclusive to the students of the client school. The route, fares and schedule is chosen by the school.
Charter Bus & Coach Hire Services
Our accreditation with Queensland Transport includes the authority to operate a service to hire buses and coaches with or without drivers to the general public. Our authority extends to any destination through Australia.
Unfortunately, after 18 months of operating this service, over $250,000 of Southern Cross Transit's own money, and numerous unsuccessful representations from the community for funding from the Queensland Government, we had no choice but to cancel the service in June 2009.
This service was is commonly known as a restricted Village to town service and in this case, was completely un-funded by any level of government, unlike many similar examples in Queensland. Offering limited services from North Tivoli, Karalee, Karana Downs, Mt Crosby and Anstead, Monday to Saturday, to and from popular destinations such as Ipswich CBD, Riverlink, Karalee and Karana Downs Shopping centers, and Indooroopilly shopping centre.
