Southern Cross Transit would like to offer a friendly reminder to all parents and students of the importance to wave down your bus.
Often, students and drivers will get comfortable with their bus riding routine, the exact same bus always comes at the same time, driven by the same driver, so students will not hail the bus down because it always stops for them.
This becomes problematic when drivers and buses change due to operational requirements, a new driver might drive by a student waiting at a stop because that student did not hail him / her down. Often there might be multiple buses that travel a similar route, which compounds the issue.
The safety of students is our number one concern, our drivers will always stop and chat to any student who waves them down and help them however they can.
So please, ensure your children are told to always wave the bus down, every day.
